Behold this epic ice creation of the Iron Throne to honor the release date of HBO's Game of Thrones Season 4 on DVD and Blu-ray (which is available now). The frigid folks at Glacial Art Ice Sculptors in England conjured up this monumental art piece from a 7 1/2-foot-tall hunk of ice and dove into the heroic task with an arsenal of knives, chisels, irons, branding tools, angle grinders, chainsaws and blowtorches.
Sixteen days later, the fantastic frozen throne was transported in 25 separate pieces to Covent Gardens' East Piazza in London, then fused together right before the unveiling event. While most of the intricate battle swords were carved separately, many were individually crafted and fused into the existing structure to give it the layered realism seen on the actual throne from the series.
A faux wolf's pelt cushion was placed on the icy Iron Throne for curious visitors to comfortably sit on ... until it all sadly melts away in a few days. Have a look at their amazing handiwork.
