If you thought Batman, Doomsday and Kryptonite were the only things capable of stopping the Man of Steel, think again.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actor Henry Cavill knows what it takes to defeat the Son of Krypton … and as it turns out, the only thing that can defeat Superman is Superman himself.
That’s what Cavill -- who confirmed that preproduction on the two-parter Justice League movie would begin in January 2016 -- told the Guardian during an extremely candid and lengthy interview for his new movie, Man from U.N.C.L.E., in which the British actor discussed the Man of Steel’s weaknesses. According to him, Superman’s morality and survivor's guilt are what makes him his own worst enemy. Here’s the interesting tidbit from the interview:
Cavill’s Superman is the most troubled of any that has yet been seen – a hero forced to hide his light under a bushel, an immortal plagued by survivor’s guilt. "He’s a complex dude," he agrees. "People think Kryptonite can beat him. No. The only thing that can really beat Superman is Superman. His own noggin messing with him. His own moral choices. When you have that to start with, the storytelling can really delve into something rich."
Is that what Ben Affleck’s Batman will use in order to try and defeat Supes in Dawn of Justice? Director Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will open in movie theaters on March 25, 2016.
