The filmmakers creating the DC Universe on film take a bow.
Following an opening montage of Warner Bros. films, an intro by moderator Conan O'Brien, and then a DC Films montage, the directors of the next six DC movies came out to say hi to Hall H.
Zack Snyder (Justice League), David Ayer (Suicide Squad), Rick Famuyiwa (The Flash), Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman), James Wan (Aquaman) and Ben Affleck (The Batman, or whatever it's going to be called) all came onstage to say a few words, with Famuyiwa noting that it was his first time at Comic-Con and in Hall H: "I am very excited to be part of this. DC is the foundation of what we all know about comic books...to be part of this tradition and have my voice be part of it is really exciting."
Wan enthused about the "opportunity to explore this universe and bring a little bit of my horror element to the scary underwater universe" of Aquaman.
After taking a photo of the crowd, Affleck said it was "really inspiring taking on this character and this story...it's terrifying and really exciting because it's one of the most inspiring and iconic characters ever created in American drama."
More to come from Hall H....
