So Ed Norton is sad that he won't get to play the Hulk mad. But who WILL get to portray Marvel's green giant in The Avengers? We heard two rumors today, one that sounds reliable (well, as far as any rumor can be) and another that made us go ... really?
Nikke Finke over at Deadline is reporting that Mark Ruffalo, previously seen in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and currently on screen in The Kids Are All Right, is in "late-stage discussions" to play Bruce Banner in The Avengers.
Wrote Finke, "Like Edward Norton, whom he'd be replacing, Ruffalo would bring real chops to the role. But, unlike Edward Norton, he wouldn't an on-set asshole." (Remember, she said it, not us.)
At the same time as we heard that Ruffalo might bring his high-end acting chops to a comic-book role, we saw over at cinemablend that former Time Lord David Tennant is also rumored to be in the running to play Bruce Banner, too. Which could be ... interesting ... but not where we'd put our money if we were gamblers.
What do you make of the latest Hulk casting rumors?
