Scott Snyder is one of the hardest-working men in comics, pulling multiple writing shifts on a series of popular books, from his stylish sci-fi horror tale The Wake and Superman: Unchained to his weekly Bat-book, Batman Eternal, and this month's freaky new supernatural series, Wytches.
You'd think the guy would need a breather, but he's plowing into another fresh Batman story arc with DC's flagship Batman title. Starting with Wednesday's Batman #35, Snyder and artist Greg Capullo are unspooling a tale named Batman: Endgame, picking up where the current Batman Eternal issues have left off and centering around the Dark Knight's exploits with the Justice League. Batman: Endgame links up with events occurring in several other Batman titles premiering in October and November, like Gotham Academy, Arkham Manor and Gotham by Midnight. The Zero Year team of Snyder and Capullo promises a reinvention of several Bat-baddies and an altering of the mythology and status quo of Batman in ways that will lend resolution to many story threads already established. Batman #35 hits shelves Oct. 8.
