Matt Smith was (mostly) ready to hand over the reins to the next man in the TARDIS, but there's one thing he's not so keen on.
The 11th Doctor era is known for many things, and we've heard that most of them will be dropped as the 12th Doctor makes the TARDIS his home: bowties being cool, drunk giraffe dances, the weird pseudo-boyfriend thing -- all will be but a memory. There's one aspect of the Doctor, though, that may still be around, and Matt Smith isn't happy about it.
When asked at a recent con whether or not Peter Capaldi's Doctor will continue the Doctor's relationship with River Song, Matt Smith was surprisingly invested.
Don’t ask. I’m really possessive over Alex. I said this to Steven. I was like, ‘Listen, just don’t! Just not Alex. Anyone else, but don’t give him River.’ But Peter is the Doctor now so, hey, what can I do?
Smith even went so far as to refer to Kingston as "my wife." Which is adorable, if not a bit odd. We're inclined to agree, although for more pragmatic reasons. River's (SPOILERS) dead! Right?
