Jayma Mays, currently appearing as Emma Pillsbury on Glee, has signed to star as the female human lead in The Smurfs, Sony's mix of live action and animation, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Mays will be playing the pregnant wife of the already-cast Harris, the film's other human lead.
Hank Azaria, The Simpsons' go-to guy, who has already voiced countless characters, has been cast as the voice of Gargamel, the sworn enemy of the Smurfs.
The Smurfs is being directed by Raja Gosnell, director of Scooby-Doo and Beverly Hills Chihuahua.
