Honest Trailers roasts Justice League for wasted potential

While the team at Honest Trailers was relatively soft on the critically lauded Wonder Woman, the next DCEU film to get caught in their sights wasn’t as lucky. Which, when you're taking shots at a messy movie like Justice League, the targets are plenty.

Justice League finds its superhero team-up the subject of a good old-fashioned teasing thanks to its over-reliance on CGI, boring villain, and moustache controversy. You know, how Henry Cavill’s moustache was digitally erased, making his mouth look like an inhuman mess?

All that and more gets roasted in the Justice League Honest Trailer, which you can watch below:

While some of the more benign visual quibbles are the funniest bits of jabbing in the trailer, the parodic folks raise quite a few solid critical points.

Whether they’re bemoaning Wonder Woman’s demotion from fully fleshed character to character kept around to have her flesh ogled or touching on the troubled production and the menagerie of styles and ideas smooshed into the tonally inconsistent film, Justice League’s imperfections come solidly critiqued—even if they say it in terms as goofy as “Joss Whedon’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League Part One ... of One.”

Where the DCEU heads next is anyone’s guess, though it does truly seem like the core group is already due for a reboot -- keeping perhaps only Wonder Woman the same for her sequel.
