Still having a hard time with Michael B. Jordan's casting as the Human Torch? Well, one person who isn't is the actor's predecessor in the role, Chris Evans. Evans previously played Johnny Storm in 2005's Fantastic Four and its sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Jordan recently posted a photo on Instagram of himself and Evans with the caption: "The Torch has been passed! #FlameOn" He even ended the sentence with four flame icons to drive the message home. These days, Evans is fighting the good fight as Captain America and occassionally as the leader of the Avengers. Apparently, however, he hasn't forgotten his fantastic roots.
While promoting Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Evans told the Daily News, "It's so funny, you almost feel precious over the role that you don't want someone else to do it. But when you hear someone phenomenal is doing it, it's very exciting, like you almost can't wait."
Did Evans have any veteran advice to pass on to his successor?
"I couldn't even give that guy any advice if I wanted, that guy is so good," he said. "It's exciting to see what he's going to do, because I know he's going to reinvent it in a way that I could never have imagined."
