The Wire veteran Idris Elba, who'll next be seen alongside Chris Hemsworth's Thunder God in 2011's Thor, wants a crack at Marvel's resident vampire slayer AND their ass-kicker. Fine with us.
In an interview with Total Film, Elba—who first waded into the comic-book-movie waters with The Losers—revealed that he'll be a player in the cinematic Marvel Universe for a while:
"I have a picture deal with [Marvel]. I can't tell you much about that, but I can tell you I'll be back. ... I wouldn't mind having a crack at bringing Blade back, personally. There's a couple of things there that they have. Luke Cage is ... very interesting."
And this is on top of the recent announcement that Elba will join Nicolas Cage in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, playing an alcoholic warrior monk. Sure, whatever.
Makes you almost feel bad for Old Spice hunk Isaiah Mustafa, the other Man Who Would Be Cage. He doesn't stand a chance against Stringer Bell.
