IDW's Micronauts comic-book relaunch last month resurrected Mego's treasured toy line from the late '70s and launched a spectacular space opera rich with possibilities while also paying homage to Marvel's Micronauts comics of the '80s. Written by The Sixth Gun's Cullen Bunn and offering electrifying art by David Baldeon, the premiere issue was a glorified success and gave the new series a solid foundation moving forward.
The dynamic world-building delivered the Micronauts' multi-faceted Microverse under threat from a nebulous entropic wave and introduced us to a colorful cast of characters both new and familiar, including Acroyear, Space-Glider, Biotron and the cruel Baron Karza and his sinister bride, Shazraella. This second issue, released today, switches interior artists and now showcases the fluid style of Max Dunbar (Slash and Burn, Dungeons & Dragons) with Bunn back to unfold the Microverse's sci-fi melodrama.
Here's the synopsis for the ongoing adventures:
JOURNEY THROUGH MICROSPACE! The reign of BARON KARZA stretches through all of known space… but a small band of renegades have other ideas. Action like you’ve never seen before! The all-new story of one of the most legendary teams in comics history!
