Have you been holding out hope that Michael Crichton's dinosaurs would live on? Well, Sam Neill has some great news for you! He's willing to come back and reprise his role as Dr. Alan Grant ...
... just as soon as both Crichton and dinosaur effects artist Stan Winston (both deceased) come through a time tunnel and announce that they're on board with another sequel.
Oh, Sam Neill, you crafty devil. Time travel isn't real!
Here's how Neill recently put it:
"I think we've told the story. I think it's done. ... Stan Winston who made those beautiful dinosaurs died. So, no Stan, no Jurassic Park really ... Crichton died too. ... I'll tell you what. If Michael Crichton time travels, writes the book [and] Stan time travels [and] reanimates dinosaurs, then absolutely."
Neill's genuine take seems to be that it would be borderline tasteless to continue the franchise without two of its most important creative forces. It's kind of hard to argue with his logic, but will that stop another film from getting made?
How about a compromise? Neill could make a cameo appearance in a certain Dinosaurs vs. Aliens flick?
What do you think?
