This week, after months of anticipation, Marvel releases Star Wars #1, the first issue of a new era in comics from a galaxy far, far away that brings some of Marvel's top talent to the Star Wars universe for the first time in decades. The series is launching with plenty of fanfare, including dozens of variant covers by superstar artists, so it's no surprise that Alex Ross -- one of the biggest superstars of the comics world -- is contributing to the launch.
Ross unveiled his limited-edition (there will be only 3,000 copies) variant cover via his store's official Facebook page late last week, and it's another classic from the artist, featuring Luke Skywalker gazing out into space, lightsaber in hand. The variant is sold exclusively through Ross' online store for $9.99, and limited signed copies are being sold for $34.99.
