Sure, it might not be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Fox has carved out a very comfortable world all its own with the X-Men franchise. Want to see the whole gang together?
A “family” photo of the X-Men cast is included in the latest issue of Empire, showing several actors from the First Class universe, along with new additions pulled from Deadpool and Gambit (and some stalwarts like the ageless Hugh Jackman). From Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique, to Channing Tatum’s Gambit, it’s amazing the amount of young talent Fox has assembled for this franchise.
Plus, with Deadpool, Gambit and Apocalypse on the way — it shows no sign of slowing down.
The image itself isn't so much an "exclusive" as it is a slight rehash of an Entertainment Weekly San Diego Comic-Con portrait of the Fox family -- which, at the time, also included the cast of Josh Trank's failed Fantastic Four movie, Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, and Jamie Bell. And, as Donna Dickens of Hitfix, points out, the image fails two include young Apocalypse mutants, and women of color, Storm (Alexandria Shipp) and Jubilee (Lana Condor).
