The new (and final) Wolverine solo film is finally taking a crack at the Old Man Logan storyline, and now we have our first look at Hugh Jackman’s grizzled spin on the fan favorite X-Man.
Director James Mangold has released a photo from Logan showing a bearded, long-haired Jackman in-character. He is sporting scars on his face (a strange thing for a character who typically has a healing factor to handle that). But yeah, that's apparently gone downhill in the future. His face also looks weathered, which makes sense, as he’s basically living in the post-apocalypse in this story.
The plot itself will reportedly follow Logan, plus an older version of Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, in a world where mutants have started to die out due to a virus. Wolverine will be slugging it out with the evil cyborg Donald Pierce (played by Boyd Holbrook) along the way. The film will also feature a young mutant Wolverine mentors, most likely X-23.
Logan opens March 3, 2017.
