We're getting a lot of new superhero movies over the next few years, and Wonder Woman is easily the most anticipated. It marks the big-screen debut of the character after years of waiting, it's the first superhero film in the shared-universe era in which a female character gets the title role all to herself, and it'll be an important part of the puzzle that will ultimately make up the big-screen version of the Justice League.
We've been looking forward to the film since it was announced, and while we've certainly seen glimpses of star Gal Gadot in action and in costume thanks to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we haven't really seen anything from her solo film. Now production on Wonder Woman is officially underway, and that's changing.
Over the weekend, Gadot posted a new image of herself in costume to Twitter, marking the first official image release of Wonder Woman.
The image doesnt' really tell us anything we don't already know, though seeing Gadot hooded and cloaked does conjure the idea of a Diana Prince who's just entered our world, waiting for the moment to reveal herself.
Wonder Woman arrives June 23, 2017.
