Sure, The LEGO Movie may have been snubbed in the Best Animated Feature category in this morning’s Oscar nominations, but no worries! Phil Lord, one of the film’s directors, has decided to make his own Oscar statuette. In LEGO, of course.

OK, odds are he didn't put that together himself this morning. But, still, it's a pretty fitting response. Lord also followed his awesome LEGO Oscar tweet with this:

This is not a tragedy. Congrats to incredible crew and cast of The Lego Movie, who made a classic.

On the other hand, Lord’s co-director, Chris Miller, was a tad more sarcastic about the lack of Best Animated Feature nom — even though “Everything Is Awesome” was nominated in the Best Song category: the movie's only nomination.

Congrats to "Everything is Awesome" though currently the title of the song doesn't seem especially accurate!

Are you disappointed that The LEGO Movie was snubbed in the Best Animated Feature category? Are you even surprised by the lack of nominations?
