If you have unlimited funds and nefarious schemes, you could always build the Death Star (cost: more than you can afford). But if you want to explore strange new worlds and seek out new life and new civilizations, you can boldly build the Enterprise ... if you have the cash.
So, how much does it cost to live out your Captain Kirk fantasies?
According to GoSupplyChain, a UK logistics and supply-chain management company, you can have your very own Enterprise for the low, low cost of $938 billion. That’s a bargain compared to the $1 quintillion for the Death Star.
GoSupplyChain, which took its data from the site BuildtheEnterprise.org, tells us that the elevators alone will cost $15 billion. Although the two engines cost a total of $67 billion, the bulk of the expenditure, $227 billion, goes to launching the ship into orbit.
Miscellaneous costs, which rack up $148 billion, include the doors. I wonder how much of that fee pays for the sound effects.
Great image, but there's one thing missing: Dude, where're my photon torpedos?
