The director and star of Thor: Ragnarok have shared some intriguing photos from the set down in Australia.
Production on the third Thor movie is well underway in Brisbane, with Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) directing and Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston back as Thor and Loki. Naturally, images from the shoot are starting to emerge, but the ones that have popped up today are courtesy of the filmmakers themselves. And while seemingly innocuous, at least one of them has provided a tantalizing clue.
First, we have this from Waititi, showcasing his well-known sense of humor as he delivers the greatest non-spoiler of all time:
Next is a pic posted by Hemsworth of Thor and his adopted brother apparently finding employment as newspaper vendors:
Interestingly, Slashfilm points out that whatever scene they're filming appears to be set in New York, a detail that takes on even greater significance with this next tweet (courtesy of Daley Pearson, who played Thor's roommate in a short film unveiled at Comic-Con):
If you look closely at the business card Thor/Hemsworth is wielding in one of those pics, it says “177A Bleecker St” -- which happens to be one of the most famous addresses in Marvel mythology, the location of Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum.
Is this all some sort of misdirection (or epic trolling), or is it possible that the God of Thunder will be paying a visit to the Sorcerer Supreme to seek his help with whatever cosmic calamity is ailing Asgard?
We have no idea, of course, and I suppose we'll just have to wait until Hemsworth, Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Karl Urban as Skurge, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Anthony Hopkins as Odin and maybe, just maybe, Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange all arrive on movie screens when Thor: Ragnarok opens on Nov. 3, 2017.
