We still don’t know much about the direction AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead will take in its second season, but the hit spinoff series will definitely be growing its cast of survivors — and one new addition should look familiar for horror fans.
Deadline reports that Daniel Zovatto, likely best known for his role in the indie horror hit It Follows, has signed on in a recurring role in the show’s second season. This being a Walking Dead series, they’re understandably keeping his actual role under wraps. It stands to reason he’s probably an entirely new character — much like the rest of the cast for the Los Angeles-set prequel series.
The first season ended with the group on a (somewhat) hopeful note, as they mapped out their next move in the zombie-filled wasteland of the West Coast. The apocalypse is just beginning, and they have some big decisions to make. Could they be heading off on a boat? Maybe? Regardless, it sounds like they’ll apparently be running into Zovatto’s character along the way.
The series stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Lorenzo James Henrie, Ruben Blades, Mercedes Mason and Colman Domingo.
The second season premieres April 10 on AMC.
