IT's Pennywise is possibly even scarier in LEGO form

Well, here's an interesting clown-related activity.

With the big screen reimagining of IT predicted to break box office records when it opens tomorrow, one enterprising fan is celebrating the occasion by crafting a spine-chilling LEGO sculpture of Pennywise, the evil clown at the center of Stephen King's classic horror tale.

Pennywise, as the story goes of course, is one of a variety of manifestations of the evil shapeshifting force that preys upon the children of Derry, Maine every 27 years. He was indelibly portrayed in the 1990 TV miniseries of IT by actor Tim Curry.

LEGO artist Tim Lydy however appears to have modeled his brick version of the terrifying clown on the current movie incarnation, played below by Bill Skarsgard.

This isn't the only time Pennywise has been captured in LEGO form.  Pics of a much smaller custom brick design in line with LEGO's regular cast of brick characters popped up on the web last year.

No word whether King's seen either designs for his iconic villainous clown, which, ever since its creation, continues to spawn waves of clown hysteria.
