It's taken seven years, but it looks like the old band is getting back together to create a sequel to Frank Miller's stylized action flick Sin City.
Miller and Robert Rodriguez, producers of the original Sin City, are officially teaming up yet again to bring Sin City: A Dame to Kill For to the big screen. Production is set to start, like, now-ish.
"I have wanted to re-team with Frank Miller and return to the world he created since the day we wrapped the original, but have felt a duty to the fans to wait until we had something truly exceptional that would meet and exceed what have become epic expectations," Rodriguez said in a statement. "A Dame To Kill For will certainly be worth the wait."
Miller, creator of the graphic novel series the movies are based on, was mum on details—but he did say the sequel will be a different animal from the first film.
"The first Sin City knocked out audiences who had never seen anything like it before," Miller said. "Robert Rodriguez and I are going to shake things up and deliver a ferocious film experience that is going to go even further than the first."
A Dame to Kill For will be based on Miller's comic series of the same name, set in the Sin City universe, and Rodriguez has previously said the new flick could be both a prequel and a sequel.
Sound off: Are you psyched to finally see work begin on more Sin City?
