We’re likely very close to getting a full trailer, and now Marvel has just dropped the first footage from new Netflix series Jessica Jones — and it’s not exactly what you might expect.
The 40-plus-second snippet pans in on Jessica (Krysten Ritter) as she is waking up from what appears to be a wild night (at least judging by the looks of her bedroom). But things get a bit more interesting when her alarm clock goes off. She might not be actively superhero-ing anymore, but Jessica still packs a punch. Looks like she’s going to need a new alarm clock in the series.
This is, admittedly, a strange choice for the first piece of actual footage to be released, but on the flip side, it’s also nicely unexpected. These Netflix projects seem to be evoking their own, unique tone within the MCU. Jessica Jones will be no different, and this is apparently the type of show with slow pans and shattered alarm clocks. Fair enough.
Along with Ritter in the title role, the series also features Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Rachel Taylor (Trish Walker), David Tennant (Kilgrave) and a few others. The series will follow Jessica as she tries her hat at being a private eye in New York, after hanging up her cape in the wake of a tragedy.
