Season 3 of Netflix's Jessica Jones has officially started filming, thanks to photos posted by star Krysten Ritter, who will make her directorial debut with the show.

The 36-year-old actress posted three photos from the set of the new season, one of which shows her posing with Rachael Taylor, who portrays Jessica's best friend Trish Walker (who is more commonly known as Patsy Walker or "Hellcat" in the comics).

The following photo was screenshotted from Ritter's Instagram story, the caption reading: "Directing requires killer shades."

It's not uncommon for the stars of a popular TV show to land in the director's chair at some point. Bryan Cranston did it for Breaking Bad, Robin Wright for House of Cards, and Patrick Stewart for Star Trek: The Next Generation. However, since the second season of Jessica Jones only just dropped in March, it'll probably be another year or so before we can see Ritter's episode in Season 3.

Besides, Jessica's has to get in line behind Danny Rand and Frank Castle, as the second seasons for both Iron Fist and The Punisher have both finished shooting and are still awaiting release.
