It's been nearly a decade since an aging Elvis and a black JFK fought against an evil mummy in the instant cult classic Bubba Ho-Tep. If you've been wondering what creator Don Coscarelli was going to do next, we have good news—today's the day you find out.
John Dies at the End was originally a story posted on the Internet by Cracked editor Jason Pargin back when he still worked for an insurance company. It made its way to small press, and then, one day, Don Coscarelli found out about it. Now it's going to be a movie.
Many people dream while sitting in their tiny cubicles that someday their story will be told. Jason Pargin is living that dream, and his story is #@$&-ed up. Not convinced?
Check out this trailer and believe.
The trailer looks incredible. It's dark, it's creepy, and it's totally original. Sure, we kind of wish there was a spot for Bruce Campbell in this movie, but we have this funny feeling that Paul Giamatti will do just fine.
Here's a brief synopsis:
"It's a drug that promises an out-of-body experience with each hit. On the street they call it Soy Sauce, and users drift across time and dimensions. But some who come back are no longer human. Suddenly a silent otherworldly invasion is underway, and mankind needs a hero. What it gets instead is John and David, a pair of college dropouts who can barely hold down jobs. Can these two stop the oncoming horror in time to save humanity? No. No, they can't."
We're planning on seeing this flick the second it comes out. How about you?
