While Jonah Hex actor Johnathon Schaech had already mentioned we would get to see the return of the Legends of Tomorrow fan favorite character sometime during the second half of Season 3, it has now been confirmed the gun-toting anti-hero will officially show up for the third season finale.

The news was confirmed to by Warner Bros. Television following yesterday’s release of a batch of pics on the official Legends of Tomorrow Instagram page. While we know Rip Hunter’s (Arthur Darvill) pal will return for the time travel series’ Season 3 finale, Warner kept mum on how Hex will fit into the action.

We can see from the images below the Legends will be returning to the Old West—specifically to the town of Salvation where the Legends first met up with Hex in the Season 1 episode “The Magnificent Eight,” followed by an encore in “Outlaw Country” in the second season. You could almost say that it's become some sort of tradition having Hex show up at least once every season.

One of the pics features co-stars Tala Ashe (Zari), Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Amaya), Caity Lotz (Sara) and Nick Zano (Nate) dressed in Wild West outfits while another shows a suited-up Keiynan Lonsdale, aka Wally West/Kid Flash, standing in front of the Last Salvation Saloon. Wally was seen in the final minutes of last night’s episode when he was found in China by a recently escaped Rip and is slated to join the crew of the Waverider as a series regular.

The news comes hot-on-the-heels of the confirmation that Constantine (Matt Ryan) will also return for a second time this season on the 15th episode of Season 3 titled “Necromancing the Stone” (airing on March 19). It’s unclear whether the occult detective and demonologist will also pop up for the finale but how cool would it be to see John Constantine and Jonah Hex rubbing elbows on the small screen? Not sure that’s going to happen but hey, never say never.

The Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 finale is slated to air on April 9 on The CW.
