Josh Gad hints again at playing the Penguin

If it walks like a penguin and sounds like a penguin ...

Okay, comic actor Josh Gad (Beauty and the Beast) has not exactly started parading around in a top hat, tails and monocle. But Gad is certainly making it seem like he's a step or two away from doing just that.

With a previous hint posted on Twitter last month -- a simple comic book image of Oswald Cobblepot in all his criminal glory -- Gad set off a furious round of theorizing that Gotham's most debonair crime boss would be making his cinematic live-action return in director Matt Reeves' The Batman.

Gad's kept mum ever since about the meaning of his cryptic tweet, but now he's posted something new that's bound to get the stew of innuendo, gossip and speculation known as the internet boiling again:

" title="<--social-media-->" class="pub_blog_post-social drupal-content" data-social-option="tw" data-social-value="https://twitter.com/joshgad/status/870441605760655360">

That's Gad in the middle (yes, the guy holding the PENGUIN COMIC), surrounded by DC Extended Universe head honchos Jon Berg on the left and Geoff Johns on the right.

What does this suggest? Did Gad just drop by for a photo op and a free comic book? Was he signing his contract to play the Penguin opposite Ben Affleck's Batman? Or did he come to the office and camp outside Berg and Johns' doors until they had no choice but to cast him?

The truth is, we don't even know if the Penguin is in Reeves' movie, and as noted previously, even if Gad is playing the role, it could be for another property entirely, and not even a live-action one. But what does this latest post say to you? You think Gad is going to take on the role in something, or is he just trolling everyone?
