Back when the Buffy mastermind was writing the now-abandoned feature film about the Amazonian princess, he had a certain Oscar-winning actress in mind.
"For me, Wonder Woman was basically Angelina Jolie," Whedon says of the role that almost every actress in Hollywood was up for, from Beyonce Knowles to Megan Fox to Morena Baccarin. "She spends a lot of time flying around. She works in a lot of different countries. She's very global. And she's appalled by the way people treat each other."
Whedon's script went nowhere—caught in an unfortunate logjam about five years ago that eventually saw Warner Brothers pull the plug on the project entirely—and now David E. Kelley is bringing Princess Diana to TV.
