Holy zany adventures, Batman! Following the release of the announcement trailer for Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders last week, here comes the first full trailer, as well as the movie's synopsis and box art. Get on board a bat-time machine, we're going back to the '60s.
The Warner Bros. animated movie reunites the original stars of the iconic 1966-1968 Batman TV series: Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar as Batman, Robin and Catwoman. Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders is helmed by Rick Morales (LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Cosmic Clash), with a script penned by Michael Jelenic (Teen Titans Go!) and James Tucker (Justice League vs. Teen Titans).
Return of the Caped Crusaders hails from Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment (these guys are on fire with their animated movies -- see: Batman: The Killing Joke). Along with Catwoman, the film will also feature Batman villains Penguin, Joker and the Riddler as they band together to wreak havoc for Gotham's dynamic duo. “Holy unholy alliance” indeed!
It’s back to the 1960s as Batman and Robin spring into action when Gotham City is threatened by a quartet of Batman’s most fiendish foes – Penguin, The Joker, Riddler and Catwoman. This time, the four Super-Villains have combined their wicked talents to hatch a plot so nefarious that the Dynamic Duo will need to go to outer space (and back) to foil their arch enemies and restore order in Gotham City. It’s a truly fantastic adventure that will pit good against evil, good against good, evil against evil … and feature two words that exponentially raise the stakes for both sides: Replicator Ray. Holy Multiplication Tables!
Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will be available on Digital HD on Oct. 11, and on Blu-ray and DVD on Nov. 1. Will that be a must-buy for you?
