Open your eyes wide and check out the unsettling new trailer released by Rogue Pictures for The Disappointments Room, written by The Flash's Captain Cold himself, Wentworth Miller. The old-fashioned haunted house tale places Kate Beckinsale and her family inside a freaky mansion that was once the site of some horrific happenings. It has the unmistakable scent of many similar paranormal domicile movies, like The Amityville Horror offerings, James Wan's The Conjuring movies and Dream House with Daniel Craig, but could end up displaying some refreshing material for the genre. Maybe! Is it too late to change that awful title?
Here's the official synopsis for this new spectral spectacle:
Hoping to repair their failing marriage, Dana (Beckinsale) and Dave move, with their son Jeremy, into a dilapidated country manor near an aging Eastern seaboard town. In the course of renovating their new home, Dana discovers a small locked door in the corner of the attic that hadn’t appeared in the house’s blueprints. The ghost of a young girl appears and beckons her to open the door. But the spirits of those who protect the rooms terrifying secret return to make sure that the room remains closed forever.
Unlock the door to the new trailer and tell us if it induces spine-tingling terror or just more indie indigestion.
