Hey, folks. Time to strap yourselves in to get a heaping pile of casting updates, starting with a Battlestar Galactica alum returning to space.

That’s right. Katee Sackhoff, who played Kara Thrace, aka Starbuck, in the Battlestar reboot, is set to lead Another Life, a new original series for Netflix, Deadline is reporting. The streaming service just picked up 10 episodes for the sci-fi drama series from Alias producer Halfire Entertainment.

Created by Aaron Martin (Slasher, DeGrassi: The Next Generation), who serves as showrunner, Another Life focuses on astronaut Niko Breckinridge (Sackhoff) leading a crew on a mission to explore the genesis of an alien artifact. As Niko and her young crew seek out the proof of alien life, they face unspeakable dangers on what could wind up being a one-way mission.

Meanwhile, Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany, Rogue One’s Diego Luna, and Speed Racer's Emile Hirsch have joined the cast of Guillermo del Toro's Trollhunters for its third and final season.

Maslany and Luna will voice Aja and Krel, two new students who end up helping the Trollhunters team in their fight against Morgana. Hirsch, meanwhile, will take on the role of Jim Lake, Jr., originally voiced by the late Anton Yelchin. The show's third season, airing on Netflix, is expected to drop later this year.

Jason Liles is about to show Andy Serkis and Doug Jones that they’re not the only motion-capture actors playing primates and monsters in this town. Liles (Men in Black III, Death Note), whom you can currently see in theatres playing the albino gorilla in Rampage, has been cast as one of several motion-capture actors playing King Ghidorah, Godzilla’s winged, three-headed nemesis (nemeses?) in Legendary and Warner Bros.’ Godzilla: King of Monsters, according to The Wrap.

Liles is joining the cast that includes Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, O’Shea Jackson, Sally Hawkins, Thomas Middleditch, and Get Out’s Bradley Whitford. Michael Dougherty is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Zach Shields. Godzilla: King of Monsters storms into theaters on March 22, 2019.

And last but certainly not least, two Harry Potter alums, Natalia Tena and Tom Felton, as well as Sen Mitsuji, are set to star in Origin, a new sci-fi thriller series on YouTube, Deadline reports.

Nora Arnezeder, Fraser James, Philipp Christopher, Madalyn Horcher, and Siobhán Cullen round out the series regular cast.

The 10-episode series created, written, and executive-produced by Mika Watkins follows a group of strangers stranded on a spacecraft bound for a distant planet and must work together to survive. Lana (Tena) winds up becoming the de facto captain, and Shun (Mitsuji) also emerges as a natural leader among the passengers. Meanwhile, Felton, Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter films, is the series’ villain as Logan.

Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, AVP: Alien vs. Predator) will direct the first two episodes. Filming is currently underway in South Africa, with a premiere slated for later this year on YouTube Red.
