The latest Justice League trailer is actually pretty great — but what if they’d made this movie in the 1990s? Well, it’d have looked a lot like this. And it would have been awesome.
This fan trailer, set to the audio track of the new trailer, splices retro footage to make what would’ve been the coolest movie of the era. Had it actually existed. The trailer features Michael Keaton’s Batman as (you know) Batman, Lucy Lawless’ Xena as Wonder Woman, John Wesley Shipp’s Flash as (you guessed it) the Flash, Peter Weller’s RoboCop as Cyborg, and Waterworld-era Kevin Costner as Aquaman.
It’s understandably a bit choppy, but you can tell the painstaking amount of work that went into putting this thing together. Sure, the effects aren’t quite up to snuff with the modern-day DCEU, but it’s something truly weird and great to see all these heroes running around Tim Burton’s Gotham, or RoboCop’s version of Detroit.
