A brand new trailer for New Line and Warner Bros.’ upcoming horror movie Lights Out has come out of the shadows. Ready to play?
Lights Out is helmed by David F. Sandberg from a screenplay by Eric Heisserer (Final Destination 5, A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot, The Thing reboot) based on Sandberg’s short film. The big screen movie will be Sandberg’s feature film debut. Future Aquaman director and horror master James Wan (Saw, Furious 7, Insidious, The Conjuring 2) acts as producer on the horror film.
The trailer below definitely plays up the kind of scares we saw in movies such as Ju-On and Ringu (The Grudge and The Ring) to some great effects. Have a look:
Check out the movie synopsis:
When Rebecca left home, she thought she left her childhood fears behind. Growing up, she was never really sure of what was and wasn’t real when the lights went out…and now her little brother, Martin, is experiencing the same unexplained and terrifying events that had once tested her sanity and threatened her safety. A frightening entity with a mysterious attachment to their mother, Sophie, has reemerged.
But this time, as Rebecca gets closer to unlocking the truth, there is no denying that all their lives are in danger…once the lights go out.
The horror movie stars Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies) as Rebecca, Gabriel Bateman (Annabelle) as Martin, Maria Bello (The Mummy 3) as Sophie, Billy Burke (The Twilight Saga) as Martin’s dad, Alexander DiPersia (I Am Legend) as Rebecca’s boyfriend Bret.
Lights Out will boldly open in movie theaters July 22 – against Star Trek Beyond.
