Sony Pictures has released the first two official trailers and a poster for director Fede Alvarez’s new horror film, Don’t Breathe.
After his 2013 big-screen debut with his remake of Sam Raimi's Evil Dead, Fede Alvarez is now following up with another horror movie in which he trades in good old-fashioned blood and gore for a terrifying game of cat and mouse.
Don’t Breathe reunites Alvarez with his Evil Dead leading lady Jane Levy (Suburgatory), who plays one of a gang of thieves who think they’ve found an easy mark in Stephen Lang’s (Avatar, Terra Nova, Salem) blind man. But this one, an Iraq war veteran, has a house full of secrets that must never get out.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Alvarez described Don’t Breathe as being more personal than Evil Dead: “There are many things that can make a movie personal. For me, one of the things is comparing it to Evil Dead. Evil Dead is a movie that — even though I wrote and directed it — has so many other elements. It’s hard to say that film is my personal film.”
Have a look at the two trailers below and yep, there is some different footage between them:
A trio of reckless thieves breaks into the house of a wealthy blind man, thinking they'll get away with the perfect heist. They're wrong.
Directed by Alvarez, who co-wrote the script with frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues, the movie stars Jane Levy, Stephen Lang, Daniel Zovatto (It Follows) and Dylan Minnette (Goosebumps). It’s produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert's Ghost House Pictures.
Don’t Breathe opens Aug. 26, 2016. Do you plan to hold your breath for Fede Alvarez's new horror film?
