For everyone who complained the first Star Trek Into Darkness trailer didn’t actually feature enough star trekking, the latest bit of footage is for you.
The new trailer shows off several new scenes and features quite a bit more levity and “fun” than the previous trailers. We may be heading into darkness, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun along the way. Spunky young Kirk remains a pain in the neck for Starfleet, and it looks like he'll be getting into his fair share of trouble once again.
There’s a lot more space action here, including a wild chase with Kirk and Spock piloting a shuttle that bears a striking resemblance to Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon from Star Wars. Hmm, has J.J. Abrams been playing us all along?
We also see more of how Kirk and the gang gets involved in the search for the interstellar terrorist played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Cumberbatch, of course, is also seen menacing around the fringes.
