There are marketing tie-ins, and then there are marketing tie-ins that are just so cool you have to give a nod to the company that came up with them. Well played, Krispy Kreme. Well played.

If you’re jonesing for a sweet and sugary way to commemorate Ghostbusters'  30th anniversary, the national donut retailer is rolling out some deliciously vintage snacks that give our geek hearts a sugar rush. Plus, this is a whole lot cheaper than that (admittedly awesome) vinyl re-release of the soundtrack.

The company will be stocking two themed donuts: the Ghostbusters Doughnut, which is a marshmallow Kreme-filled shell topped with white icing, a decorative green “splat” inspired by Slimer’s green slime, and a Ghostbusters logo sugar piece; and the Stay Puft Marshmallow, a marshmallow Kreme-filled shell topped with white icing decorated with a chocolate frosting Stay Puft Marshmallow Man face and a sugar piece hat. Yum!

The specialty donuts are set to roll out at participating Krispy Kreme U.S. locations on Sept. 29 and will be available while supplies last.

It's official! 9/29: Ghostbusters Donuts come to Krispy Kreme! (Thx @sexyarmpit for the tip: http://t.co/Mqnk5wze95 pic.twitter.com/MRvkEKZkh2
