Few could dispute that Krysten Ritter plays one kick-ass former superhero in Jessica Jones. And we’ve only seen her action prowess increase in The Defenders crossover, where Ritter has been pushing herself further in fight scenes. Perhaps even a little too far.

In a recent interview with Women’s Health magazine, the actress explains how during one onscreen action battle filmed in July, she ended up getting punched in the face and subsequently passed out. "I saw the blood everywhere, and I panicked,” she revealed.

"I felt like such a loser the first time,” she added on the subject of fight scenes. “I didn't know how to throw a punch -- why would I? Who knows how to throw a punch? Now I do it all the time, and it makes me feel strong. It's so f---ing fun."

Ritter’s interpretation of the hard-living former superhero trying to reinvent herself as a private eye has been a hit with Marvel fans. Judging by her dedication to performing her own stunts, it’s not hard to see why, either.

In fact, the actress just keeps giving us reasons to love her more: She recently revealed to Vulture how she stays sane with the hectic filming schedule by indulging in things just for her, including: juice, knitting, reading, and watching Game of Thrones. (As well as, as she put it, still eating pizza and "sandwiches the size of my head.")

The Defenders and Marvel’s Jessica Jones are all available to stream on Netflix now. Filming for Season 2 of Jessica Jones began in April this year and is scheduled to be released in 2018.
