Lando’s room in the Millennium Falcon was so posh Donald Glover wants to live there

The first trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story might have been about setting the stage for Han’s early life, but it’s his old pal Lando Calrissian who absolutely stole the show. Now Donald Glover has opened up about what it was like to captain his Millennium Falcon before Han and Chewie eventually took it over.

Glover told Entertainment Weekly the set design in the Star Wars prequel is (not surprisingly) extremely ambitious, a point made all the more decadent by Lando’s taste in, well, everything. Fans of the original trilogy know Lando is a guy who likes nice things (he did set up shop in the gorgeous Cloud City, after all), and Glover said those tastes extend back to the Solo era. The set designers did such a good job that Glover would spend his off hours kicking it in Lando’s quarters on the Falcon.

Yes, seriously.

“He’s a very particular person with particular tastes, and he likes the comforts of life. I would live in it right now, to be honest! [Laughs] In between takes, they’d be like, ‘Okay, we are going to set up for the next shot, so you can go sit in your chair or whatever,’ and I’d be like, ‘Actually I’ll just stay in Lando’s room,’” he told EW. “It was that nice! I would just lay in his bed and read a book or write something because it is very comfortable. I think he likes to be comfortable. He’s not a cowboy kind of guy.”

Glover said Solo will follow a version of Lando still developing the confidence to become the man who will eventually run Cloud City, still honing the roguish charm that would turn him into an icon. The actor also touched on what he learned from the original Lando, Billy Dee Williams, after landing the role. Williams’ advice? “Be charming.” Judging by the shots we’ve seen of Glover up to this point, he certainly seems to have taken that advice to heart.

Solo: A Star Wars Story opens May 25.
