Solo: A Star Wars Story will certainly be one of the biggest blockbusters this summer, and despite the title, the internet feels that the real hero of the movie is not Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) but Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover). Why? It all comes down to the latest poster for the film, which brings together all the key players in a style that emulates all the Star Wars movies up until this point. Han firing a blaster at the very top is reminiscent of Han (Harrison Ford), Luke (Mark Hamill), and Leia (Carrie Fisher) on the first-ever poster for Episode IV in 1977, when it was simply called Star Wars.
All the key players are present on the new Solo poster, but Twitter is losing its collective mind over the awesome placement of Lando, which puts him in the center of everything. With Lando's bright yellow shirt, your eye is immediately drawn right toward him, causing many to crack that the movie should be renamed to Lando: A Star Wars Story. After all, Mr. Calrissian is such a huge part of Han's life, having handed over the keys to the Falcon (which we'll see in the standalone film) after losing a game of Sabacc and later betraying him in Empire Strikes Back. The two characters are such close friends, and their respective histories are so intertwined, that in a way Solo is just as much Lando's tale as it is Han's.
For some context, here's the new poster in all of its glory:
And now here's what people are saying about it.
You can watch young Lando in action when Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25.
