A second clip for director Adam Wingard’s Death Note has emerged. The Netflix movie is an adaptation of the iconic Japanese manga created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata.

Death Note stars Nat Wolff (The Fault in Our Stars) as Light Turner, Margaret Qualley (The Nice Guys) as Mia Sutton, Lakeith Stanfield (Straight Outta Compton) as “L,” Paul Nakauchi (Alpha and Omega) as Watari, Shea Whigham (Agent Carter) as Light’s dad James Turner and Willem Dafoe as Ryuk.

The sneak peek sees L (that's not his real name), a renowned detective on the hunt for a serial killer known as Kira, confront Light Turner, a high school student by day who decides to rid the world of evil when he gets his hands on a supernatural notebook that allows him to write someone's name and the manner of their death for it to happen (making him drunk with god-like powers).

When L becomes suspicious of Light, he goes on a quest to prove Light is actually Kira and from the clip below, it definitely sounds like L knows about Light’s notebook. Uh-oh. Shall we begin?

Death Note will debut on Netflix on August 25.
