LEGO celebrates Jurassic Park’s 25th anniversary with tense raptor set

While we’ve written about upcoming Jurassic Park LEGOs before, an upcoming set that throws back to one of the best scenes in the original movie is just too good to pass up. Where recent horror film A Quiet Place takes from the amazing tension of the raptors in Jurassic Park, LEGO creates an entire buildable kitchen nightmare.

Featuring LEGO versions of Sam Neill’s Dr. Alan Grant, Laura Dern’s Dr. Ellie Sattler, Joseph Mazzello’s Tim, and Ariana Richards’s Lex (as well as the laughing desktop virus created by Wayne Knight’s Dennis Nedry), the Velociraptor Chase set is as terrifying as it is filled with green Jell-O, which you can see in all the pictures included below.

You can hide in the cabinets from the stealthy monsters while the adults try to save these hapless kids or you can change the story and have them steal the amber-encased DNA. Listen, it’s LEGO. Do whatever you want.

But first, check out these photos, which include the set itself and some of the minifigs:

While all this looks amazing, it still begs one question: Where is our shirtless LEGO Ian Malcolm? C’mon LEGO, everyone else is doing it. Give the people the Jeff Goldblum content that the want in an easily mixable-and-matchable format.

This set (and the more militaristic Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sets) will be available April 16.
