For months now, we've all been wondering whether actor Liam Neeson was going to be in The Dark Knight Rises. With the actor playing coy—or rather, playing the ''comatose amnesiac patient'' card regarding the fate of his character, Ra's al Ghul—we almost never thought it would happen! Until we finally got to hear exactly what we wanted.
The actor has confirmed to showbizspy that he's indeed back as Ra's al Ghul in TDKR and that he had filmed some scenes. However, the Irish actor has no idea what's really in store for his character:
"I can tell you nothing about Dark Knight Rises, seriously. I was on set for maybe an hour-and-a-half and the director didn't tell me anything of what it's about. So, I'm being very honest when I say I have no idea what's going to happen."
An hour and a half is a short time to film anything, making us think that perhaps we may only get to see Ra's al Ghul in flashback scenes (after all, the character appeared to die in that spectacular train crash at the end of Batman Begins; try to get out of THAT alive) with his beloved daughter Talia al Ghul. (Joey King plays the character as a young girl, and Marion Cotillard as the older Talia.)
Neeson may also have some scenes with a younger Bane (Tom Hardy), or he may also appear in flashbacks about Bruce Wayne's (Christian Bale) past with the man who was his former mentor.
No matter how he appears in TDKR, we're really excited to have him back as Ra's al Ghul. Are you?
The Dark Knight Rises will soar into theaters on July 20, 2012.
