There have been a lot of rumblings about whether or not Logan would feature a post-credits scene. Well, now it seems they just moved it to the start of the movie.
WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS!
According to /Film, a teaser clip for Deadpool 2 plays before Logan. The clip was apparently helmed by Deadpool 2 director David Leitch and follows the Merc With a Mouth as he tries to pull a Superman and change into his outfit to stop a mugging. It takes a bit longer than expected to get suited up, and Deadpool emerges to find the victim already dead and the mugging long over. Oops. It’s classic Deadpool, and seems to show that Leitch has a great grasp of the character, tone and material.
The teaser ends with the tagline: “Deadpool … coming … not soon enough.”
So why is the clip at the beginning of the film and not the end? Probably because Logan isn't a great tonal fit for Deadpool — and it would be pretty jarring to have this silly clip pop up at the end of the extremely serious Logan. So instead they just popped it in as a nice surprise at the start. Which isn't the worst idea.
Check it out this weekend and let us know what you think.
