James Mangold made one heck of a good movie in Logan, and he actually managed to keep most of the details under wraps in the process. But it wasn't easy — and he had some choice words for at least one reporter who was aiming to break some scoops about the production.
Mangold took to Twitter to fire some shots at The Wrap reporter Umberto Gonzalez (aka @elmayimbe), who had reported that Deadpool could have a small role in Logan, either in the film itself or as part of a post-credits scene. That turned out to be not exactly accurate (though still kinda close), with Deadpool instead showing up before the film in a preview clip. Gonzalez took the pre-film teaser as a win, though Mangold noted the original report was wrong and called his attempt at vindication "SAD!"
In a follow-up post, Mangold laid out some perspective, saying he wanted to call out this "parasitic gossip" because it makes movies worse.

It's not uncommon for filmmakers to interact with fans and journalists online, but Mangold is definitely taking a more aggressive approach than most. But hey, if he feels it's worth going to the mat over, then more power to him.
What do you think of James Mangold's comments?
