Idris Elba has revealed he’ll be back as Heimdall in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but he won't be alone; Elba said he'll return alongside everyone’s fave MCU villain, Loki. And Kevin Feige has apparently revealed that the God of Mischief would also appear in both Thor 3 and Avengers 3.
“I’m in Avengers," Elba told the Telegraph, obviously revealing something he wasn't supposed to. And it got better when he mentioned who else was in the scene that filmed just last week.
"I’m doing a scene with Chris Hemsworth [who plays Thor] and Tom Hiddleston [Loki], and they’re like, [whispers] -- ‘Aren’t you [meant to be] in Ibiza?’ ” (That Ibiza bit referred to Elba's guest gig as a DJ.)
So not only is Hiddleston coming back, but the scene they filmed could be a post-credits scene, since production on Avengers 2 wrapped a good while back.
Meanwhile, a report over at Digital Spy — which has sadly been pulled down, so take it with a grain of salt — reported that Marvel Studios head honcho Feige confirmed that Tom Hiddleston’s Loki would be featured “heavily” in both Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War.
Now let’s just pause a moment to say that it would make sense for the God of Mischief to be in Thor 3, since Loki was seen to have taken Odin’s place in Thor: The Dark World. As for him appearing in the third Avengers flick, well, Loki did lose Thanos’ scepter (which is now in the hands of Hydra’s Baron von Strucker), and the Other (currently dead as per the events of Guardians of the Galaxy) specifically warned Loki that there would be consequences if he failed his master: which, to be fair, Loki totally did.
Feige also supposedly said that Thor: Ragnarok will be picking up immediately after the events of The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
What do you make of all of this if true?
