Remember a few days ago, when we wrote that 1950s icon Robby the Robot was going up for auction, courtesy of Bonhams auction house? It turns out that this is far from the only iconic object on the auction block.

Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi can be yours, for the price of whatever someone else is paying +$1. But Bonhams suggests that it will fetch between $150,000 and $250,000.

The lightsaber in question was used in the scene on the skiff barge. R2-D2, who had been offered as a gift to Jabba, had a trick up his, um, not sleeve: At the moment when Luke was about to plunge into the mouth of the Sarlaac—where he would be slowly digested over a thousand years—R2 spat out Luke’s lightsaber. Luke frees himself and his friends, while Leia chokes Jabba the old-fashioned way, rather than the awesome Vader way. Our heroes stay alive thanks to this very saber.

According to Bonhams:

Several Lightsabers were used in the scene and this particular one is shown in closeup insert shots of R2D2. A more aerodynamic and safer plastic one was fired during the next long shot, and Mark Hamill catches a third "Hero" Lightsaber. Note that the chipped edge along the top rim of the Lightsaber used in closeups matches up with this one. This Lightsaber also has fewer parts than the "hero" version to make it more streamlined for ejection.

The winner of the auction will receive the lightsaber, a letter of authenticity, and the knowledge that every geek in the world is seething at you in jealousy.

$250k? Totally worth it.
