Mario has finally caught his star — on Donk Way.
A new live-action trailer for Super Mario Odyssey is out. And by the glitz and the glam of the big musical number featuring everyone's favorite mustachioed Italian plumber, the latest installment in the fabled video game franchise looks bigger and better than ever.
The promo finds Mario jumping and careening off buildings in the fictional New Donk City, surrounded by a bevy of dancers and his "1-Up Girl" Pauline singing the game's theme song "Jump Up Super Star" during the New Donk City Festival.
"You know that you're my super star/No one else can't take me this far/I'm flipping the Switch/Get ready for this/Let's do the Odyssey," she croons.
Mario not only explores the big city, but the trailer finds him and his "Cappy" taking his hat-shaped ship the Odyssey to a slew of different worlds, from Sand and Seaside Kingdoms to jungle and polar settings— all in a quest to save his beloved Princess Peach from Bowser.
Super Mario Odyssey doesn't hit stores until October 27, but the new adventure for the Nintendo Switch is already racking up amazing buzz among gamers and critics after its big splash at E3 2017.
In fact, the first review has leaked online with word that Edge Magazine has bestowed the game a perfect 10/10, an achievement rarely given out by the gaming experts.
Like Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Edge writes that Odyssey is "a new entry in a long-running series that belies its age with sprightly invention, taking big risks with an established formula and having all of them pay off handsomely."
King Koopa won't know what hit him.
