Mark Ruffalo had never heard of the intensely hilarious Science Bros. meme. Until now, that is.

When you star in a movie like Marvel's Avengers, there's an understanding that you'll probably have a fanbase, likely a very large one. But what Mark Ruffalo (and we imagine many actors) didn't anticipate was just how creative and weirdly specific a fandom can be.

And that is the best way to explain Science Bros. It's a meme with plenty of fan-made art depicting the pairing of Bruce Banner and Tony Stark. That pairing might show them as best buddies committing acts of awesome science, or it might be more ... intimate.

Mark Ruffalo knows Science Bros. exists now. So how does he feel about it?

Are you joking? There’s all this art of me and Robert? I endorse it 100 percent. You know what it is? It’s open-source creativity.

In addition to excitedly claiming he couldn't wait to tell Robert Downey Jr., Ruffalo also suggested a caption for the following image:

That caption, by the way, is, "Would you like a gummy worm?"
