Marvel Comics wrapped up its Inhumans vs. X-Men crossover on Wednesday, and while I won't spoil anything for those of you who haven't read it, I will say that some big changes happened. In the wake of those changes comes ResurreXion, a publishing initiative that will launch new books for both groups as they deal with a new status quo in the Marvel Universe.
Among those new books is Royals, from writer Al Ewing (Mighty Avengers) and artist Jonboy Meyers (Spawn). This series will pull several members of the Inhuman Royal Family away from their regular duties and send them to the stars, where they'll search other planets and other dimensions for the secrets of their race's origin and for answers that could help them in their quest to preserve the Inhumans. Oh, and one of them will apparently not come back from this mission.
Yeah, I know, the Inhuman Royals struggling to preserve their race isn't exactly a new concept in Marvel Comics, but this book is taking that concept to new places, and Ewing's a writer I trust to deliver big adventure, especially with characters like Black Bolt and Gorgon on his team.
Royals #1 arrives April 5. Check out a preview below.
