One of the many featurettes and awesome goodies included in today's Digital HD release of Marvel's Doctor Strange includes a behind-the-scenes look at the Sorcerer Supreme's first meeting with Thor.
The featurette was released yesterday by Thor star Chris Hemsworth via his official Twitter account and features an interview with executive producer Stephen Broussard, who discusses Marvel's use of end tags (mid and end credits scenes) in each of their superhero movies.
The comedic meet-and-greet between Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange and Hemsworth's God of Thunder was shown as part of the film's mid-credits sequence and featured Strange's introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe at large.
Here's what Broussard said:
"When it comes to our tags, we don't often script them out. We don't necessarily know when the films start shooting what the tags are going to be. Late into the shooting of Strange, the Thor: Ragnarok script was coming together and as we were reading it, we said the scene could be hilarious: wouldn't it be funny to answer the question right away what's it going to be like when Doctor Strange enters the Marvel Universe."
The home release for Doctor Strange boasts over 80 minutes of bonus material that includes a couple of featurettes, a gag reel, five deleted scenes and the sequel to Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi's Team Thor mockumentary.
Marvel's Doctor Strange will also be available on Blu-ray and DVD on Feb. 28.
